Dot day is a day when you can be creative. It is held on September 15. You can draw anything to be creative. It can be as simple as a dot or a line or anything you want. It could be any color, any shape, or any size. Draw whatever is on your mind and continue from there. If you don't know what to draw, draw a dot and continue from there. Creative minds are part of what make the most greatest art known to man kind. A dot can be any color you would like; blue, green, red, etc. You can have any design you would like; in a book we read, the author's character had just a plain dot, or she either had some swirls or lines or even other dots inside of the one main dot.
It’s a cozy, without a cloud in the sky, sunny day in May, and the last day of elementary school. It has me jumping with pleasure. Summer; getting to sleep in, hanging out with friends, it’s the best time of year! Going to the high school is a big advantage; you can do what you want (most of the time). I guess I’m saying that you are more free at the high school. No more walking in lines, I hated doing that! You get computers! They are for homework, and they help with that, but you can play games on them too. More sports activities! I love sports, basketball, volleyball, track, and softball (in the summer). They give you more practice too, so you can play the best you can.
Suddenly, As my mom drops me off, I start to realize about how much harder school will be at the high school. When I walk in the door I try to make this the best possible day that I can. After I get into the vacant classroom, we had to clean our desks out. The room looks as bare as you just moved into a new house! Then it was time to clean our lockers. I think I put my whole bedroom in there! It was so messy! Boy, did my book bag feel extremely heavy after that. After all of that cleaning torture, It was time to go to the last day assembly. While we were there we watched the 6th grade goodbye video. That one video, was probably the most unhappy thing that happened that day. That was the time when we had to say goodbye to the teachers and the other students that we wouldn’t see next year.
I thought that elementary school was absolutely horrendous, but after the 6th grade goodbye video, I realized that I was going to miss this school more than I thought. All of those teachers are so nice and I have known all of them for 7 years! (Even though I didn’t know every single teacher). I can remember my first day of kindergarten like it was yesterday! I wouldn’t say I was the best student, but I can tell you that I really wasn’t the worst.
The hardest part of that day was saying goodbye to the 6th grade teachers. They all have taught me so much! Mr. Dziwago taught me a lot of important math that I never thought existed! Mrs. Olberding taught me some very important lessons, Mrs. Pommer did a lot of fun things last year even though she wasn’t there all year, and Mr. Walters taught me a whole bunch of science things. He also teaches us discipline and manners.
At the end of the day, we said our goodbyes to all of the teachers. As soon as the bell rang, I went to my locker to double check that I had everything. Then I talked to my friends about 7th grade. I will never forget the thought I had about the elementary being bad. When I left the school at 1:30, I realized that things are going to start getting harder now.
